A flash of red and mauve light as he appeared. A horrible-looking face, a cracked yellow colour, so old and so ugly, it hangs in great big folds, not just wrinkles. His eyes are but slits. His thick lips drooling with saliva. He seems to have no hair, just a few spiky bits of non-descript grey. 
    But it is his body too. Although human-like he is very fat and has a bloated red-coloured body. It does not look like natural fat, it looks all bloated with huge black spots and warts and moles here and there. He was naked and his testicles and penis are large and black. 
    "I am the Deliverer. You will come with me, as you have called me to your temple. It is good to be honoured. For this, I will show you what I do. I deliver the souls to the great one you met earlier. I will lead you along the path they have to take." 

This horrible being had a rope around my neck and dragged me into waist high flames. He shortened the rope so I was close by him, and it was then I discovered he also carried a trident because he kept digging its sharp point into my side as soon as I was pulled level with him. 
    There were flames all around and there was something flying about our heads all the time, like a big black beetle, but this was about the size of a medium sized dog. It was a really unpleasant experience, him so close, the rope, the sharp point in my side and this creature flying at me all the time. 
    "This is the path all take that have to be terminated," he kept saying as he dragged me through a tunnel, well more like an enclosed space. I couldn’t see much for the flames and the smell was atrocious. I was struggling but it was useless and eventually we reached the place I feared, the space where everyone sits waiting their turn. 
    I thought, I’ve been here before today, not again! 
   ...The wide corridor. The screaming. The vast row of people and, there in the distance a long way off, I could see the Devourer. 

Then the being tugged the rope again and I was back, and just his face was visible. "I give you the gift of courage before I leave you." 
    Then he was gone.
