There
is as much life within the seas as there is beside.
Religions
of the modern age would have us believe that there is only
one deity: a male - God - whose administration includes
everything from lightbulbs to lichen, goldfish bowls to
the Pacific ocean.
In fact
there is a much more complex hierarchical division of
labour for land, sea and air; and those with
responsibility for the waters of the world hold
festivities during which even the most mighty of all Gods
and Goddesses - Isa - attends.
The
festival of the sea is for all those who have something to
do with it, though perhaps others attend simply to enjoy
themselves. From sea sprites, which are among the smallest
workers in the oceans, to the hugely powerful beings such
as the God Poseidon and the more monstrous deities such as
Charybdis.
It is not recommended to go fishing
leading up to this festival as some of the denizens of the
deep are furious at modern humans' ocean-going activities,
and doubtless bring along a drowned mortal or two or three
as entertainment and probably as hors d'oeuvre.
