Classical
mythology has various tales of how a God or a Goddess
falls in love with a mortal, and the Goddess Harmonia is
said to have married one - Cadmus.
Harmonia is
said to be the daughter of the God Ares and the Goddess
Aphrodite, and that she became the wife of Cadmus king of
Thebes.
According to legend Cadmus had killed a
dragon sacred to Ares; only after a year's servitude
(eight years in modern time) did Ares forgive him and
grant Cadmus permission to marry his daughter - a wedding
attended by all the Gods. During the ceremony Cadmus
presented to his new wife the beautiful but notorious
necklace made by the God Hephaestus.
Even kings
can dream, and doubtless Cadmus' wife was lovely, and some
A list Greek celebrities attended his wedding; but no way
would or could a Goddess marry a mortal however fond she
might be of them.
Harmonia is
among the most gentle and lovely of all the Goddesses.
Most times she appears naked. Harmonia has a classic
'heart' shaped face and perfect complexion; she has
extremely dark blue eyes, indeed the Goddesses especially
have very strange and beautiful eyes. Harmonia's are
blue but they change from blue to mauve as you look at
her. Her hair is long and golden. Sometimes she chooses to
appear aged in her early 20s; other times she appears in
her 30s. Her voice is soft and sweet.
On first
encounter with her there appeared a rainbow light moving
and forming speckles and patterns like a kaleidoscope
which then cascaded into tiny lights of different colours.
"These
lights you see are part of me which will bring you
vitality, let them be absorbed not only into your auric
body but your physical body. I the great Goddess Harmonia
thank you for welcoming me." Harmonia really has a beautiful smile.
"You
go through tests with various Gods and Goddesses; but my
ways are different. I believe in your sincerity without
going to these lengths, and that you have courage. Rest
for a moment in my light then I will take you
somewhere."
The
following is the team-member's account:
'...I floated off on the light and found
myself in a place where there were ancient remains and
mountains around. I thought it might be Greece. Harmonia
stood beside me, tall and beautiful.
"This was a temple to a mighty one, and alongside was a much
smaller one that was mine. Mortals came here from all over
the country to ask for my help, which often I gave. A
young woman would come and ask that her forthcoming
marriage would be a happy and harmonious one."
'I saw
three young women go together into a small temple and
there they prayed.
"These brides-to-be have made a
long journey together to come here; therefore each one
will have much happiness ahead of them."
