Dione: Ice and Paradise

First contact with Dione was very brief, but unlike many other Gods and Goddesses, Dione appeared fully that first time.

'...Brilliant violet light filled the temple and she appeared standing beside the altar. Aged, I would say 30 to 35 ish. She has pale flaxen coloured hair, nearly white but not quite, piled high on top of her head. Thin face, thin lips, sharp nose and deep-set, deep violet coloured eyes, I have never seen anything like them. Very thin body, very thin hands. She is altogether very tall and very thin without being skeletal. She must be the thinnest Goddess. She wore a long pale mauve gown, but of very thick material with long sleeves and high neck. Dione is thin-lipped as if she could be cruel, but her voice is soft and musical.

"I am the great Goddess Dione. I accept this place of worship. It is most suitable. I thank you for welcoming me here and hope this will continue.
    The Olympian faith is beginning."
She drew me into the violet light. It felt warm, not unbearably hot.

"I now have taken temples in many countries. Already mortals worship me, more and more become aware. I have brought a feeling of happiness in the realisation there are Gods and Goddesses. Some pray to us, yet they know not to whom they pray. Yet.
I shall not give you any tests today. This is our first meeting. Maybe in the future there will be some. Go now, taking my blessings for you both."

And that was all, except she asked us to call her name three times when next we were outside.
    Which we did.

Second contact was about two months later, according to our schedule and again, bright violet light filled the temple but this second time I saw only a vague outline of her face.

"I am Dione, a true Goddess. The welcome the priest gives me I know is sincere. You have your troubles, your worries. Yet you continue this work.
I take you now priestess to walk towards where I like to be."

She pulled me gently from the temple and immediately the temperature dropped. I felt cold, extremely cold. I started shivering and the pain in my feet was horrendous, and when I looked down I saw I was standing on solid ice. The ground was nothing but ice.
It was ice all around, but a long, long way ahead across the ice I could see on the horizon was a shimmering violet light. There was no sign of life anywhere and I felt numb with cold, but I set off in the direction of the light. Each step making my way toward the light, I was trying to convince myself I was warm, but it didn't work. I was very cold.
It seemed to take forever to reach the light but as I got nearer I could see her, and where she stood the ice had melted, it was dry green grass. I was desperate to get off the ice and stand on the grass, I knew I could never get really close to her but close enough to just about feel the green beneath my feet. It was cold and wet but at least the ice had gone.

"It shows, priestess you have faith to have got so far."

Then I was back in the temple, but again only for a moment of time, just enough to get my breath back. Then I heard her voice, though I did not see her.

"You may now go to a place of beauty. To enter, first you have to overcome the barrier."

There was a very tall thick prickly hedge. There was no gate nor gap in the hedge and I knew I had to get to the other side. Obviously I had to break my way through it. I walked along the length and found a place where it was not so thick and with a few dead branches, these I broke away and with much difficulty pushed through, to find myself standing in a field, but it was also a garden.
It seemed sunnier on this side of the hedge barrier and there were shady trees. Although it was in the open there were couches and a few people, all in their astral bodies, in other words all naked. The women were attractive and the men handsome, but no one spoke to each other. I soon realised, or rather felt there was no need for speech. As I joined them they all knew me and I them. I sat on one of the couches and a woman and two men joined me in that lovely peaceful strange field garden. It was as if one could talk with one's eyes.
    Then I heard Dione's voice:
"It is time for you to return."
And I had to fight my way back through the hedge. Not so bad as the first time, because it was a bit broken where I had come through before. Then I stepped back into the temple.

"I leave you now on this fine and sunny day when the great God Helios shows you how strong he can be. I give you the gift of knowledge that you are doing the right thing.
I give you the gifts, for you and the priest of great dignity at all times, of easily getting through the work you have ahead and of great courage which you both may need later today. I bless you both."
