Dione

The Goddess Dione was also thought to be a consort of Zeus. Homer believed she was the mother of Aphrodite, and Zeus the father.
Scholars note the antiquity of this relationship and the importance of this powerful Goddess, although she does not much feature in the various myths and legends - pointing out that her name is the feminine of Zeus (Dios).

Zeus and Dione were especially honoured at ancient Dodona and this has brought speculation that Zeus and Dione were the original heavenly couple, until Hera was considered his consort.
Whether or not this is the case, we cannot say.

The Goddess Dione chooses to appear as a female in her early 30s. She is tall and slender and has pale flaxen hair, almost white, and wears this gathered up on top of her head. Her eyes are violet colour. Most times she wears a long flowing gown that seems to be of a thicker woollen type of material than that worn by most other Goddesses.

"I am the Goddess Dione. I know I am not as famous as the Goddess Aphrodite or Athena or even Demeter, but I still expect to be honoured. So, thank you for remembering me.
In the times when we were worshipped, mortals would pray to us to give them whatever they needed. You do not. This shows your sincerity.

I now have taken temples in many countries. My voice is beginning to penetrate through to some mortals who can hear, leaving them interested yet puzzled. All will be clear to them in due course. To many I have brought a feeling of happiness.

Some mortals at first will reject us but in time they all will realise the truth.
Already mortals are worshipping me in what you call Holland and Sweden. I also have temples in the East where there is much cruelty and in America, the home of a faith that is one of the strangest, forcing all to give so much money each week to this faith. Now young people turn away from it, they will not be led like sheep anymore.
No mortal should be forced to give money to a faith; if they wish to give, it is up to them. We expect no money. We give.

I return now to great celebrations which will continue for some time yet. Let my light surround you all day. You have my blessings."
