The sea God Pontus is said to have been created by Gaea alone, and
there is little myth or legend associated with him beyond
being the personified sea. In fact Pontus is an extremely
powerful deity and those who make their living on the high
seas ignore him at their cost, if not in life, then in
death...
Encounters
with sea Gods invariably involve being drawn into their
realms. In other words: under the surface of the sea. The
astral body does not need air in the same way as the
physical and therefore you do not 'drown'.
On first encounter with Pontus the
entire room lit up with a blue-grey light which shimmered
and glittered as if phosphorescent as a dark tropical sea.
Then a figure appeared.
Pontus is
an immensely strong-looking God. He chooses to appear as a
man in his late 40s, but he has white hair, a whispy
beard, and blue green eyes. His skin is very pale and
although his hands and fingers are 'human-like' the skin
between his toes is webbed.
"I am
pleased it is today that you honour me as it is a special
day. Tonight is special. It was regarded as my festival
day in ancient times. There was much feasting and drinking
and honouring me."
The
following is the team-member's account of the encounter:
'...I felt myself thrown into the sea
and sank to the bottom and then was dragged along
underwater. I tried to
free myself but couldn't. In the distance I could see the
opening of a huge cave " I will show you something
beautiful."
He pointed toward an object and to my amazement I saw it
was the exact shape of a pyramid but made entirely of
blue, pink and white coral, 5 metres high.
"We
the Gods of the seas need the help of mortals to keep the
seas pure, yet mortals do not help us. Through chemicals
that come from rivers into the sea and from ships the fish
are contaminated. Mortals catch fish then eat them; so
many suffer strange illnesses to do with the blood.
Fishing boats sail out to sea, catch fish, watch them die
and then do not want half of them and throw them back.
This is wrong. Many mortals are now suffering for their
pollution of the oceans and for killing innocent sea
creatures. I sink boats and punish the mortals involved.
Come."
'...I
seemed to pass into a light and it was like a huge wide
tunnel of different coloured lights all moving around;
then the lights became little fish and the sides of the
tunnel broke away and I was somewhere else in the ocean,
near the surface. I saw a really filthy, rusty boat
chugging in cold waters as I could see icebergs and frozen
sea.
On board the boat were large canisters.
The boat manoeuvered and the crew threw them overboard
into the sea. Then when all the canisters had been dumped
the boat turned and chugged away. After some distance it
seemed to hit something and the boat went down with all on
board.
"This
boat has been used many times for this wicked work,
polluting the sea with dangerous chemicals. It will never
be used again. These men will be punished."
'...Again
he pulled me through the water and we reached a huge rock
with a small flat area on top and on this were two human
skulls, one upright as if growing out of the rock, the
other on its side, about half a metre apart. No flesh just
grey white skulls. Little fish swam in and out of the eye
sockets and open mouth, in and out of the holes, round and
round going from one skull to the other and swimming in
and out. Although it was horrible to see the skulls it was
lovely to see the little grey fish playing and clearly
enjoying themselves.'
"These
skulls belonged to men who fished on a trawler. They
killed each other fighting and falling overboard. Wicked
creatures, but they are more useful now than when they
were alive. A playground for the small fish."
'...We
reached a coral reef and I noticed there was a lot of
black sticky tar around. Some of the coral was okay but
other bits were badly affected by the oil. As I drew
nearer I saw something move. At first I thought it was a
fish and then I realised it was a man. I watched for a
moment. He was bleeding from arms and legs and face,
and to my horror he was actually licking the tarry oil
from the coral. He was obviously in agony, his tongue was
black and bloody.
"This
soul deliberately cleaned out the tanks of his ship. He
died a natural death. The great Keres sent him to me for
punishment. He is to clean the coral until it is perfect
again. I hope
you have enjoyed these few moments. I am in a contented
mood today therefore I give you the gift of contentment.
You have my affectionate blessings."
